Hague, Saskatchewan

Hague is a small rural town in Saskatchewan, Canada, located approximately 40 kilometres north of Saskatoon. Hague was established in the late nineteenth century as a plethora of Mennonite farming communities with the purpose of developing the fertile farmland in central Saskatchewan.

The town's connection to the farming community remains strong despite an influx of families escaping to the urban life offered by Saskatoon. This has effectively changed the character of the town. Regardless of this eventual migration, Saskatoon's incredible cost of living has allowed Hague's population and size to slowly grow.Fact|date=July 2008 An explanation for this could be because Hague still maintains a relatively inexpensive cost of living with the convenience of a large urban centre nearby. While it is not as close as Warman or Martensville, Hague is still a viable option for quiet habitation. Hague has its own elementary and high school, arena (with hockey and curling), expanding grocery store, hardware store, Credit Union, post office, two restaurants, and two gas stations.

Hockey

Thanks to NHL player Robyn Regehr who played minor hockey in Hague, wrote a letter to the NHLPA's Goals & Dreams program and thus $30,000 was allocated to the Hague Parks and Recreation Department. The $30,000 was put towards a new ice re-surfacer. [Citation
