Patch High School is an English language
high school onPatch Barracks inStuttgart ,Germany . It is an AmericanDepartment of Defense Education Activity school (DODEA). The school was opened in1979 ; its students are mostly military dependents, commonly referred to as "Military Brats" or "Third Culture Kids ", whose guardians are stationed at Patch,Robinson Barracks ,Panzer Kaserne , Nellingen Kaserne, orKelley Barracks . The school was named after Alexander McCarrell "Sandy" Patch, an officer of theUnited States Army duringWorld War II . PHS used to have students from grades 7-12 however at the start of the 2006-2007 school year the school changed to 9th-12th in order to have room for larger numbers of students predicted to enroll as more families moved to Stuttgart. Middle schools were created on Panzer Barracks and Robinson Barracks to be used by these middle school students.Academics
The school offers the same typical classes as schools in the states.

Patch American High School's current administration is Principal Susan Page and Vice Principal Mr. Thomas Whitney.

Athletics
Patch High offers a variety of athletic opportunities to its students including: American-style football, basketball, track, cross country, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, cheer leading, tennis, golf, softball, and baseball. Competitors usually involve other DODDS schools, although international schools can be a part of scheduled opponents. The
Sixth Area Support Group also provides athletic opportunities, such assnow skiing ,skateboarding ,bowling , andswimming .Alumni
Since 1979 students have been passing through the halls of Patch High School, and have been subsequently scattered to the four corners of the world. As the internet grows, past and present students have been able to reconnect through various websites and social networks.
