- Andy King
Andrew "Andy" King (14 September 1948) is a British Labour Party politician. He was
Member of Parliament for Rugby and Kenilworth until 2005, having first won the seat in the 1997 general election. He lost his parliamentary seat at the 2005 general election to the Conservative Party candidate, Jeremy Wright.Following the 2005 election, Parliamentary constituency boundaries were redrawn, and Rugby became a seat in its own right once again. Academic research by election experts Lewis Baston and Simon Henig for The House Magazine shows that Labour would have won the new Rugby seat in 2005 (notional result).

On Sunday, 22 July 2007, Andy King was selected by members of Rugby Constituency Labour Party to stand for Labour in the Rugby constituency at the next general election.
Andy said: "I am deeply honoured that local Labour members have chosen me to stand again for Labour in Rugby at the next general election. I have lived with my family in Rugby for 30 years, and my roots in our community are very deep.
"Being an MP is the greatest honour that any community can bestow. It was a huge privilege to represent the old seat of Rugby and Kenilworth in Parliament for 8 years until 2005.
"Being an MP also brings with it solemn responsibilities. I always did my best to fulfil those commitments to our community as our local MP, and I believe that I was successful. I am now committed to fighting hard for local people again."
