"Yesterday Was a Lie" is a film by director James Kerwin, starring Kipleigh Brown, Chase Masterson, and John Newton, with Robert Siegel and Peter Mayhew. The film has been referred to as a combination of science fantasy and film noir in press materials [cite web | url = http://www.heliconarts.com/yesterday/synopsis.html | title = SYNOPSIS | publisher = Helicon Arts | accessdate = 2007-09-08 ] , shot in black and white, with a deeply personal plot that contains allusions to Jungian analysis, alchemy, and quantum mechanics.

Production and release

In spring 2007 an early cut of the film was completed, the trailer of which premiered at [http://www.comic-con.org/wc/ San Francisco Wondercon] . In August 2007, the film's official blog announced the completion of the motion picture.

On January 9, 2008, it was announced that "Yesterday Was a Lie" would begin its series of film festival screenings with a world premiere on January 17 at the 2008 [http://www.parkcityfilmmusicfestival.com Park City Film Music Festival] , where it received a Gold Director's Choice Award. "Yesterday" has since received Best Feature awards at the 2008 [http://www.backlotfilmfestival.com Backlot Film Festival] , the [http://www.brilliantlightfest.com Brilliant Light International Film Festival of Los Angeles] , the [http://www.lakeforest.edu/life/orgs/film/default.asp Lake Forest Film Festival] , the [http://www.wrathofcon.org Wrath of Con Film Festival] , the [http://www.route66filmfestival.net Route 66 Film Festival] , and the [http://www.shockerfest.com ShockerFest Intl. Film Festival] , as well as a bronze Telly Award. It was awarded the Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography trophies at Visionfest '08 and the Best Actress prize (for Brown) at ShockerFest.

In early July 2008, San Diego Comic-Con announced that "Yesterday Was a Lie" would screen as the closing film of its 2008 convention.
