Jeff Moorad is currently the
Chief Executive Officer , minority owner and managing partner of theArizona Diamondbacks baseball team. He is also a co-owner of theHall of Fame Racing NASCAR team.For many years, he was a player agent, and representing many
baseball andfootball players. He also had his own firm,Moorad Sports Management .When he was offered to run the Arizona Diamondbacks before the 2005 season, all
Major League Baseball owners had to approve the change. Jeff Moorad had to give up all of the players that he represented in order to make this move. Although Moorad Sports Management still exists,Greg Genske took over the representation of Jeff Moorad's players.One of the most prominent players managed by Moorad during his tenure as an agent was left-fielder Manny Ramirez, currently of the Los Angeles Dodgers. In December of 2000, Moorad and then Red Sox general manager Dan Duquette famously brokered the $160 million deal which brought the enigmatic Ramirez to Boston.
