Cape Cod Coliseum

Cape Cod Coliseum

The Cape Cod Coliseum was a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, USA.

ports

It was used by Vince McMahon for World Wrestling Entertainment, then known as the WWF. It was home to both the Cape Cod Cubs/Cape Codders of the North American Hockey League (1973–1977) and the Cape Cod Freedoms of the Northeastern Hockey League (1978–1979). In the early 1990s, it was expanded upon to three times it size and became the warehouse for Nantucket Distributing (the former shadow company behind Christmas Tree Shops).

Rock concerts

Additionally, the Cape Cod Coliseum was host to many major rock concerts over the years during the summer months. Referred to as the "air-conditioned" Cape Cod Coliseum, it was basically a large concrete cube with a stage- hotter than the surface of the sun- but it wasn't until a show was over and the A/C had a chance to catch up that it would actually rain in there from all of the sweat from the crowd condensing on the ceiling. Iron Maiden, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, ELP, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Pat Benetar, Billy Squier, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, and the Grateful Dead are among the many artists who performed there.

As a warehouse

As of March 2007, it serves as the warehouse for several businesses. [ [http://www.barnstablepatriot.com/12-12-03-news/midcape.html barnstablepatriot.com] ]
