Siadwell

Siadwell

Siadwell (pronounced "Shadwell") was a character in the 1980s BBC sketch show "Naked Video". Siadwell was a Welsh poet who was featured sitting in his bedsit wearing an anorak and thick-rimmed glasses. He would appear every week, greeting viewers with the line "Hello, Siadwell here", and would then proceed to inform viewers what he had been up to since last week. One of his most recurrent utterances was "I've been feeling a bit "depressed" recently". The character was played by actor John Sparkes, and was apparently based on Rik Mayall's character Kevin Turvey.Fact|date=March 2008

Siadwell appeared in the show from 1986 to 1989, making his final appearance as a ghost (having died of alcohol poisoning the week before) in the final episode of series 3.
