Wheeling (metalworking)

Wheeling (metalworking)

Wheeling is a metalworking process - see English Wheel.

Wheeling is done by repeatedly drawing the a sheet of metal between shaped rollers or wheels called a Wheeling machine / English Wheel. In skilled hands, very complex shapes, such as automotive body panels, can be formed by hand. The use of the wheel allows the metal to be shaped and stretched without creasing.
