The first character to bear the name Blastcharge was a Vehicon who appeared in the Beast Machines toyline as one of Megatron's generals, although he never appeared in the show. His toy bio indicated that while he was immensely dim and easily outwitted, he was second only to Tankor in terms of sheer brute force. [http://www.bwtf.com/bm/toys/reviews/blastcharge/]

3H Enterprises

Blastcharge appeared in the "Wreckers" BotCon comic. Although Megatron mentioned him as having worked along his "namesake", no Decepticon with the name Blastcharge had appeared before (he could have been a classic Decepticon with other name, but it is unconfirmed).

His spark was taken by Megatron alongside that of Quake and implanted in a Vehicon body. They were then sent to take care of Primal Prime's group of Wreckers. Their first encounter in the base of Arcee was inconclusive, although Blastcharge managed to kill the Maximal Fractyl. The two then tracked the Wreckers to the crashed Autobot shuttle that had brought Optimus Primal's group back to Cybertron. However the Wreckers escaped the onslaught in the shuttle, with Quake being killed by Tigatron. Fractyl then returned as a transmetal, having been resurrected by Arcee, and killed Blastcharge.

*Transformers: Universe Blastcharge (2005):The Beast Machines toy is recolored and became a Decepticon. This version of Blastcharge never appeared in any Transformers: Universe storyline and had to tech spec or any other sort of official biography. It's assumed by fans he is either the original Blastcharge or a version of him from a parallel world, such as the one Universe Obsidian and Tankor come from, perhaps even their world. The name Blastcharge was reassigned to a Mini-Con in the toyline. This Blastcharge is a member of the Decepticon Deep Space Team; the rivals of the Street Action Team. Part of the 'versus' Mini-Con packs; this toy is repainted from the toy; Payload and comes packaged with the Autobot Mini-Con High Wire.

His toy bio indicates that he was sent by the silent backer of Thrust's rebellion, Sunstorm, to set up a fake base in the middle of an asteroid field to lure in and destroy Mini-Con fighters loyal to the high council.

Fun Publications

In "Balancing Act" Blastcharge appeared among the rebel Mini-Con forces who sided with Megatron and attempted to sabotage the Mini-Con evacuation from one of Cybertron's moons. The Deep Space team combined and fired on Sentinel Maximus, but missed.
