Geography

The village of Unionville is located at 39° 53' 43" North, 75° 44' 04" West (39.8954, -75.7344).GR|1 In addition, it is very close to Longwood Gardens and just a 20 minute drive from downtown Wilmington, DE.

Education

Unionville is located in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District and the home of Unionville High School.

Unionville High School is in the Southern Chester County League (SCCL) for the 2006-2007 school year and will be joining the Ches-Mont league for the 2007-2008 school year. UHS is also the home of the current SCCL champions in boys soccer and football.

Local Attractions

Longwood Gardens (About 5 minutes from Village of Unionville): 1,050 acres (425 hectares) of gardens, woodlands, and meadows; 20 outdoor gardens; 20 indoor gardens within 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of heated greenhouses; 11,000 different types of plants; spectacular fountains. An international garden destination.

Brandywine Battlefield (About 15 minutes from Village of Unionville): The Battle of Brandywine and the American Revolution are presented in the Museum which is part of the park's modern Visitor Center. A permanent interpretive exhibit and an audio-visual presentation graphically tell the story of the battle and its relation to the Philadelphia Campaign of 1777. Changing exhibits cover other topics of interest pertaining to the American Revolution and offer something new for the frequent visitor.
