James Hayward is the
pseudonym of James Nice (b.6 January 1966 inEssex ), English writer onmilitary andmodern art history. Educated at theUniversity of Glasgow prior to working in publishing and as asolicitor . Books by James Hayward include "The Bodies on the Beach" (1999), "Shingle Street " (2002), "Myths and Legends of theFirst World War " (2003) and "Myths and Legends of theSecond World War " (2004).James Hayward has also written liner notes for many audiobook CDs including "Artists' Rifles 1914-18", "Memorial Tablet" (
