WRCG (1420 AM) is a news-talk formatted radio station in Columbus, Georgia. WRCG carries programming such as Paul Harvey, Laura Ingraham, and Neal Boortz. WRCG previously held the call letters WRBL. As WRBL, the station first operated on the frequency of 1200 before being reassigned in the early 1940s to 1230 and finally to 1420. The station is an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves radio network, the largest radio affiliate network in Major League Baseball. History

WRCG was originally WRBL (Wee-Rebel Radio), from which WRBL TV 3 and WRBL FM 102.9 sprang. The station was a mixture of MoR music, personality, sports and local/network news. The music was phased out with the advent of FM. It became WRCG (Radio Columbus Georgia) when the TV and radio went their separate ways. Construction permit

On October 19, 2007, the Federal Communications Commission granted WRCG a construction permit to become a Class D station with a lower-powered (79 Watt) non-directional single tower nighttime signal. This permit expires on October 19, 2010.
