The bone of contention is reported to be a luxury SUV Pajero that Kashmala received as a gift, but was demanded back after Kashmala had a falling-out with Waheed. She was then seen with Imran Khan, the former cricketer turned politician and also joined his political party for a year before their relationship crumbled. The Pakistani newspaper Khabrain also reported in February that Kashmala was present with the Pakistani delegation at the WTO Ministerial Conference of 2005, which met in Hong Kong, and she was observed making movies with a hand held camera, an act which led to protests from the accredited reporters present. (Humayun Akhter Khan was leading the Pakistani Delegation at the Conference and they stayed together throughout the trip). While her personal life has made her the darling of the Urdu-language media, Kashmala has also gained the trust of the PML-Q leaders for her unflinching support to the regime of president Pervez Musharaff, on TV talk shows and on the floor of the National Assembly.
