Thach Thi Ngoc

Thach Thi Ngoc

Thach Thi Ngoc (Ngoc Thach Peterkin) was born on February 21, 1950, Ben Tre, South Vietnam. She was a member of the South Vietnamese Olympic Team from 1966-68. She held the record for the high jump in South Vietnam from 1966 through 1968. In 1973, she went to the United States and married United States Army LTC John W. Peterkin in New York. Ngoc did not return to Vietnam until 1985, when the communist government in Hanoi granted her a visa to visit her family in My Tho, Vietnam. Ngoc currently lives in New York City and owns a chain of salons and assists in humantarian efforts for children in Vietnam.
