The LOGOS Ministry

The LOGOS Ministry, incorporated in 1963 in Pennsylvania, serves several hundred congregations in more than 20 denominations. It is a Christian organization that partners with congregations and other ministries to establish and support a unique system of ministry that equips adult leaders to nurture children and youth into discipleship. Its vision is that children, youth, and their families worldwide are nurtured into a lifetime of Christian discipleship through the system of ministry known as LOGOS.

A congregation's weekly LOGOS ministry consists of four parts derived from Acts 2:42: Bible Study, Recreation Play, Family Time, and Worship Skills.

The goal of "Bible Study" is to nurture youth and children into intelligent, obedient, biblically informed discipleship. The goal of "Recreation Play" is to have great fun at the expense of no one else. The goal of "Family Time" is to provide a joyous celebration of personhood over a shared meal, experiencing family of God. The goal of "Worship Skills" is to develop responsibility for, and practice in worship skills, because worship is our primary service to God as |disciples.

LOGOS is an intergenerational ministry of discipleship. It is not intended primarily as an outreach, church growth, or evangelism ministry; however, many churches that use LOGOS have found it to be such an attractive relationship-building ministry that they do, in fact, experience growth in attendance and membership.

The LOGOS Ministry conducts more than 30 training events each year, in various cities of North America, to train adults in the theology and practice of beginning and sustaining an effective LOGOS ministry in their congrations.
