Isle of Man .Geography
The parish is a mountainous region including the northern slopes of Barrule and Slieauwhallin, and to the west, the Dalby mountains, with the Peel hills to the north. Glen Rushen is located between Mount Dalby and Barrule, called in its lower part Glemnaye. Through Glenmaye flows the Glenmaye river, with the Glemnaye waterfall, about one mile from the coast. There is also Glen Dhoo. In Glen Rushen There were slate quarries in Glen Rushen.
The population is partly agricultural, fishing, and mining, and is sparsely distributed over the parish. There are three villages, Dalby near the coast on the west side of Dalby montain,
Foxdale a former mining village andGlen Maye , on the coast and home to the glen of the same name.cite news
