*August 11 - Tris Speaker of Cleveland hit his 700th career double, but the Indians lost to the Chicago White Sox, 7-2. The double came in the third inning off Joe Edwards.

*August 21 - Ted Lyons pitches a no-hitter in a 6-0 Chicago White Sox win over the Boston Red Sox.

*October 10 - The St. Louis Cardinals defeat the New York Yankees, 3-2, in Game 7 of the World Series to win their first World Championship, four games to three. In Game 4, Babe Ruth hit three home runs, a World Series record equaled only twice since. The Series would feature 13 future Hall of Famers.
