Hocine Soltani

Hocine Soltani ( _ar. حسين سلطاني ; born December 27, 1972 in Thenia – died March 1 2002 in Marseille) is a boxer from Algeria, who won two Olympic medals. In 1992 he placed third in the Featherweight division (54-57 kg), and at the 1996 Summer Olympics he won a gold medal in Lightweight.

Hocine turned pro in 1998 and only fought four times, winning each bout and retiring in 2000. Soltani disappeared in March 2002. His lifeless body was found near Marseille, France in September 2004.

Soltani is the uncle of two time Olympian Mebarek Soltani.

*1991 3rd place at World Championships as a Featherweight in Sydney, Australia. Results were:
