Patrick Elkins

Patrick Ryan Elkins (born 1976) is an American author, performance artist, puppeteer, and singer-songwriter.

He has played with a number of other groups, including "Catch A Wave", "Ever Will You Get There", "The Aleise Barnett Good-Bye Band", "Dyslexic Bob", "The Posh Boys", "Orgasmic Cookies", "The John Merrick Appreciation Society", "Mischief Mouse", "Video Games", "Rainbow Island", "Jimes", "Actual Birds Mind Expansion Ensemble", "(Ultimate) Catfight of the Century", "Suns of the Universe", "This Must Be The Place" (a Talking Heads cover band), "Strange Meat", "The Sonshine Band", "Zombie Gutz", "Hot Meat for Young Lovers", "Petroleum Bloodfang", "Liquid Gods", and "The Melting Flux Collective".

Elkins has released several albums of music and his writings have been published in "Display Magazine", "Gravity Presses", "the Independent Media Center", "Cloudrag", and "the Ypsi Mix" (the official newsletter of the Ypsilanti Food Co-op).

Elkins' first novel "Ink on Dreams Of Transient Architecture" was published by Francis of Prussia in March 2007. [http://kandapop.com/fophome.html]

Personal

Raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Elkins moved to Ypsilanti to attend Eastern Michigan University, the fourth in a series of public institutions he attended after graduating high school.

Although he dropped out of EMU in 2003 and moved to Olympia, Washington, shortly thereafter, Ypsilanti has served as Patrick's base of operations since he returned there in the spring of 2004.
