Maltby, North Yorkshire
The Pathfinders public house, Maltby

Maltby is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is located to the east of the A19. The Pathfinders pub has now been renamed as "Chadwicks Inn Maltby" and is the only 2 AA Rosette Gastropub in the Tees Valley area.

"A 19th Century public house retaining original features such as the stone fireplace and beams. The pub (originally the Half Moon Inn) was taken over following the 2nd World War by an RAF mosquito pilot named John Liddle, who renamed it The Pathfinders in honour of the pilots and the proximity to the nearby Thornaby airfields. Original memorabilia, including Mr Liddle's portrait and commendations, are still on display in the pub today."[1]

As well as a pub the villages also houses a small methodist chapel [2], a shop and a cricket club [3].

The village is currently included in the Stockton South constituency, represented by the Conservative MP James Wharton. It is proposed that for the next election it should join the new Sedgefield and Yarm constituency [4].
