Population Research Institute

The Population Research Institute (PRI) is a non-profit organization based in Virginia. The PRI describes itself as "a non-profit research and educational organization dedicated to objectively presenting the truth about population-related issues." PRI argues against the notion that human overpopulation is occurring, and refers to itself as a "pro-life" organization.

The Population Research Institute has in past years received funding from The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, Inc., which is stated by a liberal watch-dog group as being "the country's largest and most influential right-wing foundation". [cite web

Fundraising

One measure of a non-profit's performance is in how efficiently it raises money and how it subsequently spends contributions. PRI obtains most of its funding (>90%) from charitable contributions and experienced a decrease in revenue from 2004 to 2005, which was accompanied by a decrease in the amount of money it spent on program activities. The President of PRI, Steven W. Mosher, received in 2005 the equivalent of ~13% of the entire expenses budget for the organization and roughly equivalent to the entire administrative expenses budget for 2005. [cite web
