Telford Town Park

Telford Town Park

Telford Town Park is a large park, occupying 1.7 square kilometres of land adjacent to the main shopping centre in Telford, Shropshire, England. The park is the main recreational area for the residents of the town of Telford.

Despite the belief by many locals that the park is for the use and enjoyment of all members of the public, park wardens are under orders to question any adults in the park that are not accompanied by children and remove them from the site if they do not have a suitable justification for being there [cite-web|title=Adults spotted without children to be interrogated by park wardens|url=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1053863/Adults-spotted-children-interrogated-park-wardens.html|work=Mail Online|publisher=The Daily Mail|accessdate=2008-09-10|date=2008-09-10] [cite-web|url=http://www.shropshirestar.com/2008/09/08/town-park-staff-to-quiz-adults/|title=Park pervert patrol shock|accessdate=2008-09-10|date=2008-09-08|work=shropshirestar.com|publisher=The Shropshire Star Newspaper] .

The park features a lake and extensive grass areas. Additionally, the park includes the 'Maxell Cherry Gardens', which are a popular place for people to sit and relax. There is also a large play area opposite the lake, with play equipment intended to cater for most age groups of children. A "senses garden" is located in the park, which is intended for the blind and deaf.

The South Telford Heritage Trail begins and ends at Malinslee Chapel in the park and several historical waypoints are located in the park including Randlay Pool, Blue Pool and the Stirchley Chimney.

Adjacent to Telford Town Park is the Telford Ice Rink, home to Telford Tigers ice hockey team.
