The area is bounded byFilton Aerodrome to the north and Filton Golf Course to the east. Brentry has a mix of high-quality private housing and good formercouncil housing .The main road passing through the area was, for a decade or so, the main route for A38 traffic going through Bristol, but the bisection of the Filton Bypass by the runway for the giant
Bristol Brabazon aircraft in the late 1940s downgraded its status. The hangar for the aircraft, once the largest such structure in the world, is at the edge of Brentry, directly below the Filton Golf Course hill.Pen Park Hole is a large cavern situated beneath the hill, to which access is strictly limited.Brentry is also the name of a Bristol based band, named in honour of Brentry Road in
Fishponds .External links
