Speldhurst is a village and civil parish in the Tunbridge Wells Borough of Kent, England. The parish is convert|15|mi|km|0 to the west of Tunbridge Wells: the village is convert|3|mi|km|0 west of the town.

Parish Church

Designed by John Oldrid Scott and built by Hope Constable of Penshurst was dedicated on May 6th 1871 to St Mary, part of the united parish with Ashurst and Groombridge.Stained glass windows by Burne Jones & William Morris commissioned by Canon Hichens et al.Speldhurst is a wonderful village with lovely homes and scenery. The village is also well-known to the Rev Baden Powell who was the Father of the founder of the Scout Movement. Rev.Powell also married his second wife in Speldhurst Church – she is buried now in the Speldhurst Churchyard. Speldhurst has become famous for the "Speldhurst sausages" which are known world wide. Bus services at Speldhurst are from 1/10/07 provided by Nu-Venture (01622 882288) throughout the day on Mondays to Saturdays; www.nu-venture.co.uk.

Tourball

[http://www.tourball.co.uk Tourball] was invented by Speldhurst Cricket Club whilst on cricket tour to Yeovil. Fans of the game have been known to make a pilgrimage to the village to see the place where the rapidly growing sport was invented.
