John Donald Carr

John Donald Carr

John Donald Carr (15 June 1963) is an English cricket executive.

John Carr was born in St John's Wood. His father D.B. Carr was a first-class cricketer who captained Derbyshire CCC and England, before moving into cricket administration.

He was educated at Repton and Oxford. He played first-class cricket for Oxford, MCC and Middlesex as a gifted right-handed batsman and off-break bowler, He scored 9,846 runs for Middlesex between 1983 and 1996, at an average of 39.22, with 20 centuries and a highest score of 261 not out. He succeeded John Emburey as vice-captain in 1996.

He joined the Test and County Cricket Board, upon his retirement. He is now the Director of Operations for the England and Wales Cricket Board.
