Al Darawish

Al Darawish

Al Darawish is an Italian rock group based in Bari (Southern Italy).

They recorded their first album in 1993. Their music is an example of what is sometimes referred to as "Ethnic Mediterranean rock".

The name of the group means "Simple People" in Arabic, and their lyrics are generally in Arabic, but may also be in Italian, or even Latin.

Their music is meant to speak about the experiences of the people of Palestine, Southern Italy, and Greece. "Al Darawish" often uses acoustic instrumentation such as violin, bouzouki, accordion, bass, as well as the electric guitar.
