Stephen Milne (born 8 March 1980) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Milne plays for the St Kilda Football Club and also runs Saintly Entertainment with teammate Steven Baker.

Early career

Milne was recruited from Noble Park, followed by Dandenong U18s and then the Essendon reserves team in the late 1990s. In 2001 he was elevated from St Kilda's rookie list and played his first official AFL game.

In 2002 he had a strong year, kicking 50 goals in 21 games. In the Round 5 clash against Sydney he kicked a goal in the final minutes of the match to put the Saints up by 17 points (although the game ended in a draw).

2004

In 2004, following St Kilda's Wizard Cup victory, on the Sunday after the game, Milne and fellow Saints' player Leigh Montagna were involved in sexual assault allegations. The charges were eventually dropped.

With these allegations hanging over his head, Milne produced a sensational burst of form early in 2004, proving one of the most dangerous forwards in the competition in St Kilda's 10-game winning streak. During this winning streak he was a target for opposition fans, becoming known as "The Rat" due to his speedy and erratic nature, small stature and buck teeth.

Recent seasons

Milne has become the 5th highest goalkicker of all-time with St Kilda after twice kicking more than 50 goals in the past four seasons. In the final round of the 2005 season against the Brisbane Lions, he had the statistics of 15 kicks and 11 goals straight in the Saints' 139-point win.

He kicked 7 goals in a game twice in 2008, but his most memorable game was the 3 goals kicked against Fremantle at Subiaco after a nasty head clash. He was forced to drive back from Perth with St Kilda medical staff rather than risk further damage, and arrived in Melbourne on the Thursday following the game. Incredibly, he was named to play the following week in Robert Harvey's tribute game against Adelaide and kicked 2 goals in a 20 possession game.
