Peter Peak

Peter Peak (Petrov Vrah pe-'trov 'vr&h) is an 850m in Delchev Ridge, Tangra Mountains, eastern Livingston Island, Antarctica. The peak surmounts Iskar Glacier to the W, Bruix Cove to the NW and Sopot Ice Piedmont to the N.

The peak is named after Czar Peter II of Bulgaria, 1185 - 1197 AD, who together with his brother Czar Asen I restored Bulgaria’s independence to establish the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. [ [http://www3.pnra.it/cgi-bin/LUOGHI_ANT/ENG/sinonimi Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica ] ]

Location

The cliff is located at coord|62|38|16|S|59|56|43|W| which is 550 m NW of Delchev Peak, 2.7 km SE by S of Rila Point, 1.9 km W by S of Yavorov Peak and 1.8 km SW of Rodopi Peak (Bulgarian mapping in 2005).
