Reading Pride

Reading Pride is an annual gay event that serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual, intersex and transgender communities of Reading and the Thames Valley.

History

Reading Pride has been on the first or second Saturday in September since 2004 at King's Meadow in Reading.

The next Reading Pride will be held on Saturday August 30th 2008.

The Festival

Reading Pride's stated aims are to:
*Celebrate the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.
*Ensure a sense of belonging
*Build strong and positive relations between people of different backgrounds, working towards a shared vision of social equality and inclusion in Reading and the surrounding areas

The main way in which the Reading Pride organisation tries to achieve these aims is by the annual "Festival" event which is held annually on the first or second weekend in September
