Ruby Nash Curtis

Ruby Nash Curtis (born 12 November 1939) is an American singer who led the rhythm and blues group Ruby & The Romantics.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Nash didn't start singing until she was a senior in high school. She joined a group of male singers touring as "The Supremes" in 1961. After they got a record deal with Kapp Records, they changed their name. In 1963, they scored a #1 hit with "Our Day Will Come", and had two more modest hits, "My Summer Love" (#16) and "Hey There Lonely Boy" (#27), but they never emulated that success despite personnel changes in 1965 and 1968. The group disbanded in 1971.

Nash returned to Akron and worked for AT&T. Ruby & The Romantics were given a Pioneer Award by the Rhythm and Blues Foundation in 1997. As of 2001, she was working at a large retail chain and had received no royalties for her records.
