Coolmore Classic

The Coolmore Classic is a Group 1 Australian Thoroughbred horse race for fillies and mares aged three year old and upwards. It is a set weights race, run over a distance of 1500 metres at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Sydney in April. Prior to 2008, it was held in March. Prizemoney in 2008 was A$604,900.

Race History

Registered as the T A D Kennedy Stakes, this race has been known as the Winfield Classic, Orlando Wines Classic, Rosemount Wines Classic, Marlboro Classic, NSW Thoroughbred Breeder's Stakes and Fillies & Mares Classic.

In 1984 this race attained Group 1 status, prior to that it was a Group 2.
