Brian F. Linnane

The Reverend Brian F. Linnane, SJ (b. August 25, 1955) is the 24th President of Loyola College in Maryland, taking over after the death of Fr. Harold Ridley. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1977 and was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on June 14 1986.

Linnane's educational background includes numerous degrees, including a bachelor's degree from Boston College, master's degrees from Georgetown University, the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, and two degrees from the Yale University Department of Religious Studies. He also holds a Ph.D. from the Yale Department of Religious Studies and a Licentiate of Sacred Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley.

Before coming to Loyola, Linnane served as Assistant Dean of the College of the Holy Cross, National Vice President of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society, and chair of the Catholic Theological Society of America's admissions committee.

He was announced as president of Loyola on June 2 2005 and inaugurated October 21 2005.
