- Capital strike
Capital strike refers to the withholding of new
investmentin an economy. A capital strike most often occurs where governmentspursue policies that investors consider "unfriendly" or "inflexible."
In response, governments typically act to appease investors; however, governments committed to
endogenousdevelopment (recently, in Latin America) occasionally refuse to capitulate and instead pursue economic developmentplans which utilize other resources.
