Rocky Mountain Airways

Rocky Mountain Airways airline codes|JC|RMA|Rocky Mountain was a commuter airline based out of Denver, Colorado. It was sold to Continental Airlines (who had a hub out of Denver) in 1986.

The airline flew from Denver's old Stapleton International Airport to a variety of destinations in Colorado. The airline oprerated out of the old commuter part of Concourse A at Stapleton.

The airline was founded as Vail Airlines in 1963 by Gordon Autry.

The original major aircarft of the fleet was the DeHavilland Twin Otter DHC-6 and Rocky Mountain later was the launch customer for the DeHavilland-Canada DHC-7.
