High-Definition Coding

High-Definition Coding

HDC (Hybrid Digital Coding) with SBR (spectral band replication) is a proprietary lossy audio compression codec developed by iBiquity for use with HD Radio. It replaced the earlier PAC codec in 2003. It is thought to be a modified form of MPEG-4 HE-AAC. [ [http://www.eskimo.com/~nanook/radio/2007/04/am-bandwidth-and-digital-radio.html Radio and WIreless: AM Bandwidth and Digital Radio ] ]
