South West Wiltshire will be a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Like all such constituencies, it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Following their review of parliamentary representation in Wiltshire, the Boundary Commission for England have created a new seat in the county with the consequence of changes to the existing Westbury seat. Westbury will lose of its northern electoral wards to Chippenham, with the consequence of a name change to South West Wiltshire. This new name reflects the local district name.

The following electoral wards are used to make the new constituency of South West Wiltshire.

*From West Wiltshire district, the wards of :- Dilton Marsh, Ethandune, Mid Wylye Valley, Shearwater, Southwick and Wingfield, Summerham, Trowbridge Adcroft, Trowbridge College, Trowbridge Drynham, Trowbridge John of Gaunt, Trowbridge Park, Warminster East, Warminster West, Westbury Ham, and Westbury Laverton.
*From the district of Salisbury, the wards of Donhead, Fonthill and Nadder, Knoyle, Tisbury and Fovant and Western and Mere

The newly shaped and named seat of South West Wiltshire will be fought for the first time at the next UK General Election, expected in 2009 or 2010.
