Hung Ba (zh-tsp|t=雄霸|s=雄霸|p=Xíong Bà) or " Lord Conqueror" is the first arch villain in the popular "Fung Wan" comic series. He had 3 apprentices (in chronological order) Frost, Cloud and Wind.

Hung Ba was played by Sonny Chiba in the 1998 film "The Storm Riders".

The Prophecy

After the supposed death of Nameless, the martial world was lacking of good fighters for a decade. Then came Hung Ba and the Lord of the Peerless City, Du Gu Yi Fang.

Mud Buddha gave Hung Ba the first half of his prophecy:
* 金麟豈是池中物;一遇風雲便化龍

"Crude translation"

The golden fish does not belong to the pool;

Meeting wind and cloud turns it into a dragon in full.

The Search for Mud Buddha

10 years have passed since Hung Ba received the first half of his prophecy. Growing impatient, Hung Ba sends Frost and Wind to find him. Frost's wife, Kong Chi accompanies them. Crossing through a forest, they meet the childless couple Phoenix and Dragon; two faithful servants to Nameless. Dugu Ming, the son of Du Gu Yi Fang, is also there. Dragon and Phoenix have the Fire Monkey. Because Mud Buddha has told so many fortunes, the Heavens punished him by putting poison into his body causing horrible lesions all over his body. The Fire Monkey is said to be able to suck out the poison. Therefore, the Fire Monkey was planned to be used to draw out the prophet. Frost, Wind, Dragon, Phoenix, and Dugu Ming and his men all vie for the Fire Monkey all while an old man and his granddaughter watch. Eventually, the Fire Monkey is able to leap out of its container and into the hands of Dugu Ming. The granddaughter cries out in shock and Frost takes notice. Dragon and Phoenix take off after Dugu Ming and Wind is about to follow, but Frost tells him not to.

It turns out that the old man was Mud Buddha himself in disguise. Frost explains that Mud Buddha is notorious for being able to change his outside appearance. When he heard the little girl cry out in shock over the monkey, it convinced Frost that the man was Mud Buddha. His ability to change his appearance is the main reason why he was able to escape Hung Ba for so long. Realizing that Hung Ba is anxious to meet him, Mud Buddha agrees to go with Frost and Wind because he's tired of hiding.

The Second Half of the Prophecy

Along the way back to Tin Ha Wui, the five stop at a village to rest. While resting, a masked stranger attacks them. More powerful than Frost and Wind, he easily disposes of them. He kidnaps Mud Buddha and his granddaughter and flies away. This masked stranger is Hung Ba. Being the impatient man he is, he decided to get Mud Buddha himself. He forces Mud Buddha to tell him the second half of the prophecy. Mud Buddha tells him:

* 九霄龙吟惊天变, 风云际会浅水游

"Crude Translation":

From the farthest sky

the heaven's doom brings the dragon's sigh;

When wind and cloud pass by,

in the shoal must the dragon lie.

This meant that Hung Ba's ten years of good fortune was up and he was to be killed by Wind and Cloud. Enraged, Hung Ba hits Mud Buddha and his granddaughter with his palm, effectively killing them both. Deciding to believe no more in prophecies, Hung Ba vows to not be overthrown by Wind and Cloud.

Hung Ba's Plans

Hung Ba had enlisted the help of 12 assassins who each practiced a strange type of Kung Fu. With their help, Hung Ba nearly succeeded in killing Wind and Cloud. Frost had decided to arrange a meeting with Cloud, Wind, Dugu Ming, Wu Buddha, and Duen Long to help fight these assassins and Hung Ba. One of the assassins caught wind to this and told Hung Ba who then mobilized his troops. Cloud was surprised Frost asked him to help as he and Wind were responsible for his wife's death. Frost admits to being mad at Cloud, but they needed help. Cloud is also at unease to know that Wind will be at the meeting as he was the one who provoked the fight that killed Kong Chi. Arriving at the meeting, all seemed well. Duen Long, however, didn't attend. Hung Ba's court jester, Wen Motely, was asked to go outside where he was ambushed and killed. Everyone quickly jumped up to find that Hung Ba had arrived with his 12 assassins and many members of Tin Ha Wui.

Not backing down, Wind, Cloud, Frost, Wu Buddha, and Dugu Ming decided to fight. Hung Ba laughs at them and attacks as well. The group is continually being beaten. Cloud decides to go straight for Hung Ba as his hatred for him still burned. He is quickly overpowered by the awesome might of Hung Ba. Hung Ba is about to strike Cloud, but Wind intervenes and as a result, loses his left eye. All badly beaten, Frost gives everyone a chance to escape by grabbing Hung Ba by behind and freezing his arms. Frost tells Hung Ba to let everyone go or he'll kill Hung Ba's daughter. This angers Hung Ba and in turn, breaks off Frost's arms leaving him with no arms at all.

Losing track of the group, Hung Ba pulls back.

Battle at Sword Worship Villa

Hung Ba arrived at Sword Worship Villa by ship. At this point, Cloud is on the verge of death due to his battle against Sword Demon and the power of the Ultimate Superior Sword. Wind is the only one to face Hung Ba as Frost was in no condition and Kim Sun was escorting Chor Chor away. Wind encases Cloud in ice with the Blizzard Sabre and sends him to the bottom of the ocean so he can heal. Before being encased, Cloud tells Wind to let him kill Hung Ba.

Wind goes to face Hung Ba and gets beaten. Cloud awakens and they both unite to fight Hung Ba. Hung Ba gets beaten badly and retreats.

Losing his Martial Arts

Hung Ba goes to a restaurant to recover. Many people notice that its Hung Ba not in his palace, but out in the open. They also notice he has been weaken. Traitors in the Conquer Clan decide to strike now. Hung Ba is barely able to keep them off and he is almost killed. However, someone decided to help him. This person is Nameless. He knocks back the attackers and saves Hung Ba. Feeling gratitude for the first time in his life, Hung Ba swears off his evil deeds. This however, will not quell the traitors. To make amends, Hung Ba tells them that they can have Tin Ha Wui. However, they are still skeptical. To prove his point even further, Hung Ba hits his vital points, destroying his martial arts. Hung Ba is now nothing more than a common man.

Death

Nameless reunites Hung Ba and his daughter and they peacefully live away from the Martial World. However, this is during the time that Po Kuan (under the name Sunder) appeared. Po Kuan had caused havoc everywhere, even forcing the humble Kim Sun into raping Chor Chor and betraying his master Nameless by become his pupil. Because Kim Sun was now Po Kuan's pupil, he had to prove himself. He told Kim Sun to go to a certain area with the Hero Sword.

Meanwhile, Po Kuan had also given Cloud an offer he couldn't refuse: to kill Hung Ba. Cloud's hatred for Hung Ba still burned and he wanted revenge. Po Kuan gave Cloud one of his weapons and dispatched him to kill Hung Ba.

Arriving there, Hung Ba's daughter tries to convince Cloud to not kill him, but Hung Ba pushes her aside. Hung Ba knows that he deserves it and he can't do anything about it. Before he dies, Hung Ba tells Cloud not to hurt his daughter. Cloud agrees and lunges for the kill. Suddenly, the Hero Sword shot out from the bushes. Kim Sun threw the Hero Sword at Hung Ba's daughter, causing her to fall in front of Hung Ba. She suffered from Cloud's stab. She died after telling Cloud to spare her father. Seeing Hung Ba weeping over his daughter's death, Cloud begins to hesitate. This wasn't the Hung Ba who murdered his family. This was just another old man who had lost everything. Realizing this, Cloud begins to drop the weapon. Hung Ba, not wanting Cloud's pity, throws himself at the weapon, committing suicide.

With this, Cloud didn't feel an ounce of satisfaction from this. In fact, he felt nothing but fear.
