Bob Svihus (born June 21, 1943, in Los Angeles) is a former American college and professional football offensive tackle.

Professional career

Svihus played for the American Football League Oakland Raiders from 1965 through 1969, and after the AFL-NFL merger, for the Raiders in 1970, and the New York Jets between 1971 and 1973.

Svihus was also drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 1965 NFL Draft, but chose to sign with the Raiders.

College career

In college at the University of Southern California, Svihus was a 1964 All-Pac 10 Tackle.

High School Career

He went to Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA.

Author

Svihus co-wrote a book with Wayne Hawkins (Oakland Raiders Offensive Guard) and Dave Dalby (Oakland Raiders Center) called "Raider: How Offensive can you be? A 25-year history of the Oakland Raiders." The book is published by Peninsula Publishing in Monterey, CA. The book was written in 1986-1987.
