"Love Is Blindness" is the twelfth and final song from U2's 1991 album, "Achtung Baby". Much of the album relates to love gone wrong, in one form or another; the lyrics to "Love Is Blindness" reflect this theme, juxtaposing love and violent imagery:

Fans have speculated that the song addresses the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The song often closed shows on the Zoo TV Tour with images of the night sky projected around the stage. The Edge played the song on his Gibson Les Paul Custom, and included an extended guitar solo in the live performances. A backing track was used to create some of the resonating bass effects. A performance is seen on the "" video, with Bono performing the song in his MacPhisto persona and dancing with a girl from the audience.

It was not played again until 1 March 2006 on the Vertigo Tour's stop in Buenos Aires. [ [http://www.u2-vertigo-tour.com/song146.html Love Is Blindness played live] , u2-vertigo-tour.com] This performance of the song was not complete and did not feature the usual solo of The Edge.

The song has been covered by Trespassers William, Cassandra Wilson (on her New Moon Daughter album), The Devlins featuring Sharon Corr (that version is included on the soundtrack for the TV show "Rescue Me"), Sixpence None the Richer and Waldemar Bastos.
