Jose and Manuel

Jose and Manuel

Jose and Manuel were characters in the Looney Tunes series of films. They were sombrero-wearing crows whose accents indicated Mexican origin. Jose is the husky one and the "brains" of the duo. Manuel is thinner, taller, and dumber.

In "Mexicali Shmoes", they were reinterpreted as cats. They serve as antagonists to Speedy Gonzales. Manuel has a sister living in Los Angeles.

In "Señorella and the Glass Huarache", they are reinterpreted as humans, though only their shadows are seen. Jose tells Manuel the story of Cinderella (featuring an all-Mexican cast), and reveals he is married to the Wicked Strapmother.
