The R9 was a New York City Subway car which was built in 1940 by two separate orders from different manufacturers.
Car 1802 survives at the New York Transit Museum and is operated with other R1/9's in occasional fan trips. Car 1689 survives at the Shore Line Trolley Museum and is in operable condition. Car 1801 survives at New York State Museum in Albany.
