George Hickenlooper (born
May 25 ,1965 inSt. Louis, Missouri ) is an Americandocumentary film -maker.Hickenlooper attended high school at
St. Louis University High . After graduating fromYale University with a B.A. in History and Film Studies in 1986, Hickenlooper interned for the producerRoger Corman , and launched his directing career with Art, Acting, and the Suicide Chair: Dennis Hopper in 1988.As a child, he collected comic books. At 12, he attended his first comic-book convention, staying in a hotel and buying and selling comic books. According to his mother, he recovered his expenses. Fact|date=September 2007
