"Moving" is the debut album of the New Zealand band Eight, released in March 2004.

After receiving a $NZD50,000 grant from NZ on Air, Eight recorded the album over a 5 month period from mid-2003 in a 2 storey villa in central Auckland. The villa was the home of the producer, [http://www.welsford.net/ Malcolm Welsford] and all the initial tracks were recorded in Welsford's lounge.

This album was quite an effort to organize; there were amps throughout various rooms, leads ran through holes in the walls and ceiling so all the instruments could be recorded at once, and a CCTV security camera system was installed so Welsford could see what was happening from his upstairs control room.

Vocals, strings, and extra keyboard and guitar parts were then added separately to complete the songs.
