Sogamoso is a town and municipality in Boyacá Department, Colombia, part of the the Sugamuxi Province a subregion of Boyacá. It was originally called Suamox, meaning "City of the Sun" in the local Chibcha language. It is located 170 km north of Bogotá. It is the base of some of the biggest industries in Colombia.
