Ridge (geometry)

Ridge (geometry)

In geometry, a ridge is an ("n" − 2)-dimensional element of an "n"-dimensional polytope.

By dimension, this corresponds to:
*a vertex of a polygon;
*an edge of a polyhedron;
*a face of a polychoron (4-polytope);
*a cell of a 5-polytope;
*and so forth.

Exactly two facets meet at any ridge in a polytope.
