Weighted voting

Weighted voting

Weighted voting is a type of system in which some members' votes carry more weight than others. For instance, in a stockholders' annual meeting, votes are weighted by the number of shares that each stockholder owns. This is in contrast to normal parliamentary procedure, which assumes that each member's vote carries equal weight.
