Steve Allen (LBC radio presenter)

Steve Allen (Stephen William Allen b. 17 March 1954, Bromley) is a British radio presenter on London station LBC 97.3. He lives in Twickenham, London.

Radio career

Steve has broadcast on LBC radio for 29 years. He worked as a nightclub disc jockey where he met Dale WintonFact|date=June 2008 and subsequently joined the United Biscuits Network, a radio station broadcasting to workers in the United Biscuits' factories [ [http://www.lbc.co.uk/Article.asp?id=361076&spid=13363 More About Steve Allen, LBC Website] ] . His voice was heard in Scotland, Liverpool, Manchester and London.

UBN closed in 1979 (following the Lorry Drivers' Strike during the Winter of Discontent) and he joined LBC as presenter of the Night Extra programme. 'The Night is Young' was the next series of programmes he presented and when LBC was separated into 1152 AM and 97.3 FM, Steve presented the afternoon show of 'London Talkback Radio' (latterly LBC News 1152) and 'Saturday Night Out'.

Steve has also worked for Blue Danube Radio in Vienna, a station sponsored by the United Nations. He was also the host of Crinkley Bottom radio on Noel Edmonds' Garden Party.

His current radio programmes are the early breakfast show between 0500-0700 Monday to Friday and breakfast on Sunday mornings from 0800-1100 His third show for LBC, 'In Conversation', is broadcast on Sunday at 7am and 9pm. Steve Allen's breakfast show is a humorous take on celebrity life. His show is the best on radio, bar none.

In 2006 & 2007 he embarked on a live tour visiting theatres around the London area. All dates sold out within a day of going on sale.

Steve's radio catchphrase is "Morning Team!"

Even a fellow LBC presenter has been known to be on the receiving end of Steve's comments. In a handover from former The Apprentice contestant James Max, after being introduced by James, Steve said "Oh go away, you boring old windbag!". TV experience

Diabetes
