In the fall of 2006 Kenston H.S. moved into a new a building due to a growing population base and a larger student body. The school is recognized for its award-winning website [ [http://www.educationworld.com/best_of/2000/csoy.shtml Education World : "Best Of" Series : 2000 : Cool School of the Year ] ] . Academics include a wide array of typical American high school courses and it fields numerous men's and women's sports teams.

History

Kenston High School developed out the now defunct Bainbridge High School in the mid-twentieth century. At its inception it was a vocational school, similar to the nearby Auburn Career Center of today, but eventually evolved into a four year academic high school.

Website

Kenston High School is well known in northeast Ohio because of its award winning website.

Development of the site first began during the 1998–1999 school year. By the end of the year it had about 300 pages.

In 1999–2000 two students dedicated themselves to further developing the site. They created the framework of the site that allowed it to grow to 2,700 pages with over 10,000 photos. In addition to these webmasters, the computer teacher Mr. Continenza began to recruit editors and reporters for different sections of the site. His goal was to update multiple parts of the site each day and to provide students with scores and stories about athletic events. At this time the website began to receive national attention and was named "Cool School of the Year" as the top K-12 academic website in the country [ [http://www.educationworld.com/best_of/2000/csoy.shtml Education World : "Best Of" Series : 2000 : Cool School of the Year ] ] . The 2000–2001 school year brought additional growth and the addition of a class solely dedicated to web design. In August 2007, the website was fully redone with a new look and interface.

Athletics

Kenston's nickname is "The Bombers". The school logo most commonly used is of a B-52. Although, the B-25 is the bomber shown on their website. Recently Kenston moved from the Western Reserve Conference to the Chagrin Valley Conference.
