The Automobile Association (or simply AA Ireland) has been operating in Ireland since 1910. Today, AA Ireland is Ireland’s leading motoring organisation and provider of rescue services. It is also one of Ireland’s leading personal lines insurance intermediary and a major provider of travel, technical and information services. "AA Roadwatch" is the major supplier of traffic and travel information in Ireland.

AA Ireland employs over 300 people and its head office is located at Maryland House, Dublin, with its Rescue Centre based in the city centre and central patrol garage located at Naas Road, Dublin.

There are AA outlets at 56 Drury Street, Dublin and 24-25 South Mall, Cork. Patrols are located in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Sligo, Galway, Waterford and Drogheda. AA Ireland has a customer base of 400,000. Its branded rescue product, "AA Membership", is held by over 315,000 members, giving the AA a market share of 85% in the market for those motorists who choose and purchase rescue cover. The AA also provides breakdown assistance to fifty percent of new cars as part of their warranty, in association with ARC Transistance.

AA Ireland is often referred to as the Automobile Association of Ireland, though this is not the legally incorporated name.
