Spud Davis

Virgil Lawrence "Spud" Davis (December 20 1904 - August 14 1984) was an American catcher in Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he died at age 79 in Birmingham and is buried there.
